First things first: your care matters.
You don't have to know all the right questions. You don't have to have a birth plan perfectly written. And you don't have to wait until you're overwhelmed to ask for support.
Our role is to help you explore your options, prepare for important transitions, and feel supported along the way.
Before birth
Explore your preferences and questions about pregnancy and birth.
Learn about comfort measures and ways to prepare for labor.
Discuss communication, informed decision-making, and questions to ask your healthcare team.
Identify your support network and resources.
Prepare for the transition into postpartum life.
During labor and birth
Receive emotional reassurance and encouragement.
Explore nonmedical comfort measures and positioning.
Have support with communicating your preferences and questions.
Feel accompanied as you navigate the birth experience, within the agreed scope of doula services and availability.
Birth support depends on the service arrangement, timing, and availability established with your doula.
After birth
Navigate the transition into parenthood.
Discuss newborn care resources and feeding support options.
Identify practical and emotional support needs.
Connect with community resources.
Prepare questions for your healthcare or lactation professional.
Make space for rest, adjustment, and your own well-being.
What is a doula?
A doula is a trained support professional who provides non-medical emotional, informational, and practical support during pregnancy, birth, and/or postpartum. Doulas do not replace physicians, midwives, nurses, lactation professionals, or emergency medical services. They do not diagnose medical conditions, prescribe treatment, or make clinical decisions. Instead, doulas help families feel informed, supported, and connected to the resources they need.
