Throughout history family members as well as members of the community would gather together to support new mothers through the birth process. As times have changed this support has now expanded in the career as a doula. A doula is a hired individual trained to support the birth parent throughout the process of fertility, birth, postpartum and many other specialty areas. A doula supports a birth parent through the incorporation of holistic practices and specialized techniques assisting the birth parent mentally, physically and emotionally. A doula supports the parent through labor and delivery and dependent upon the type of doula hired may specialize in other areas pertaining to fertility, birth, and or postpartum. The overall goal of a doula is to ensure that the birth parent feels supported and that a healthy birth parent and baby are the only outcome.

1 Free Consultation :
This consultation will be our first meeting before contracts are signed and is the time for us to get to know one another. This is also a time to establish your needs and wants.
Phone, text, email + support:
As your doula I am committed to you upon the signing of our contract meaning that you have access to me via phone and or email throughout your pregnancy and 6 weeks following delivery.
Labor Support:
As your Doula we are committed and will assist you through your labor from the time that you call and request our support until 2 hours post delivery. During this time will support you in creating your dream birth environment as discussed in our consultation and prenatal visits. We will provide care ranging from aromatherapy, meditation, massages, and any other techniques to ensure that you have the most comfortable birth as possible.
Postpartum:
Postpartum Visit (approx 1-2 hours) We will process your birth as well as address any concerns you have moving forward.
Closing of the Bones Ceremony:
This is a time where we will honor the transition of life earthside and a time to celebrate the power of the womb and bring forth healing and rest for the birthing person and their family.

Weekly Prenatal sessions beginning at week 20:
A prenatal visit virtually (approx. 1 -3 hours). During our meetings we will discuss the following: health history, labor & delivery preferences, creating a birth preference list, comfort measures you wish to use during labor, goals for labor and bonding, postpartum plans regarding caring for your newborn, yourself, and family, and address any other questions that you may have.
Labor Support:
As your Doula we are committed and will assist you through your labor from the time that you call and request our support until 2 hours post delivery. During this time will support you in creating your dream birth environment as discussed in our consultation and prenatal visits. We will provide care ranging from aromatherapy, meditation, massages, and any other techniques to ensure that you have the most comfortable birth as possible.

Postpartum Weekly Check-ins (approx 1-2 hours until 6 weeks):
We provide support and care to infant and birth parent. Includes daytime or nighttime support.
This package includes our herbal tea blends for each trimester.

We will connect virtually to discuss your fertility journey. Our discussion will include a personalized plan to aid in your growth and healing as it pertains to your fertility journey.
1 Free Consultation : This consultation will be our first meeting before contracts are signed and is the time for us to get to know one another. This is also a time to establish your needs and wants along your fertility journey. During this time we will assess how we can pivot to increase fertility. The ways in which we will optimize your fertility. (As a holistic fertility we cannot guarantee fertility but assist individuals by using a wide range of holistic practices and techniques.)
We will examine the beliefs that may be considered hindrances to your fertility journey, creating a plan to shift your mindset to receive conception.
We will review you and your partner's diet and day-to-day activities to optimize fertility.
We will create a custom plan that includes yoga and meditation to heighten your awareness between your mind, body, and, soul.
You will be provided with a list of resources to assist in fertility such as acupuncturists, nutritionists, psychologists, osteopaths, hypnotists, herbalists, chiropractors, etc) to support you on your fertility journey. (*varies by location)
Postpartum Support
A Postpartum Doula supports the birth parent and their family after labor. Some of the roles as a postpartum doula that we can assist with are feeding, safety, and care of the birthing body, co-parent and baby. When supporting during postpartum is it SunshineFLO's goal to ensure that the birth parents needs are being met so that they can maintain their emotional, mental, and physical well-being and to ensure a smooth transition into their home.

Placenta Encapsulation + Tincture (amount of capsules depends on size of placenta)
The placenta delivers nutrients and oxygen to a developing baby and it is full of vitamins and minerals such as B6, B12, and iron. The placenta is also hormone rich with progesterone and estrogen. This can aid in a decrease in postpartum mood disorders, increased production of oxytocin, a decrease in stress hormones, restoration of iron levels following bleeding after birth, and increased milk supply.

As birth approaches it is imperative that one cares for their crown and ensures that their hair is in its healthiest state.
